UNDERSTANDING UV DTF WRAPS / DECALS

UV DTF (ultraviolet direct to film) is a specialized printing process that uses UV curing technology to create high-quality, durable designs on film suitable for hard surfaces. This cutting-edge method produces vibrant and long-lasting prints that can be easily applied to various hard and uniquely shaped surfaces, including tumblers.

These preprinted decals are ready for application, with no need for weeding. The transfer tape is already applied on top of the print, simplifying the application process. Once the design is transferred and the carrier film is peeled off, the result is a vivid, durable print that adheres firmly to the surface.

Application instructions for UV DTF wraps / decals

1. Preparation and pre-squeegee steps

• Avoid overlapping: if using as a full wrap, trim the decal to size to avoid overlapping.
• Pre-squeegeeing: run your squeegee over both sides of the wrap to ensure even adhesion before removing the carrier sheet.

2. Removing the carrier sheet

• Essential step: to prevent any damage to the print, place the UV DTF print face down and carefully remove the carrier sheet from the back.

3. Application process

• Start application: begin applying the decal from one end, keeping the wrap straight. It is crucial to align the decal properly as it cannot be removed or repositioned once applied.
• Application technique:
• Hint: apply the decal in small sections, using firm pressure with a squeegee or your fingers. This method helps in avoiding bubbles and ensures a smooth application.
• Peel off carrier film: once the design is in place, squeegee over it firmly 2 or more times to secure it. Slowly peel off the carrier sheet, watching to ensure all parts of the design adhere to the surface. If any section does not stick, lay the carrier sheet back down, re-squeegee, and peel again from a different angle.

Care instructions

• Hand wash only: to maintain the quality of the decal, no soaking and hand washing is recommended.
• Microwave/oven use: these decals are not recommended for use in microwaves or ovens.
